Amarkantak Town in Madhya Pradesh

Amarkantak is a Nagar Panchayat in Anuppur, known as pilgrim City of Madhya Pradesh, India. Amarkantak has unique natural heritage and is the meeting point of the Satpura Ranges and Vindhya Ranges, with the Maikal Hills being the fulcrum. At this very point the Narmada River, the Son River and Johila River emerge. Popular 15th-century Indian mystic and poet Kabir is said to have meditated on Kabir Chabutra, also called the platform of Kabir situated in Amarkantak.
