Eco Tourism Destinations In Madhya Pradesh
Samardha - Jungle Camp:
Samardha Jungle Camp is situated 30 km from Bhopal and
is the first community based ecotourism destination of Madhya Pradesh. It has
been a popular getaway for the people of Bhopal for quite some time.
Kerwa - Jungle Camp:
Kerwa reservoir situated on the outskirts of the city
of Bhopal, along with the local hills, and forests is a popular weekend getaway
for the people of Bhopal.
Kathotiya - Jungle Camp:
Kathotia is a small forest village only 17 km from the
capital, nestled among sylvan hills, ancient cave paintings, wildlife, with
excellent opportunities for adventure sports such as rock climbing, rappelling,
trekking etc.
Kukru - Jungle Camp:
Situated on the border of Maharashtra near the Melghat
tiger reserve, Kukru offers breathtaking views of dense forests, hills and
tribal life. The famous Kukru forest rest house, in Betul district has been
popular with the residents of Amrawati for a long time.
Rukhad - Jungle Camp:
Rukhad is a small forest village situated on the
Jabalpur-Nagpur highway, nearly 20 km south of the district town of Seoni, the
town immortalized by Kipling in his Jungle Book stories.
Bhilatdev - Eco Park:
The magnificent Bhilatdev Ecopark is nestled on the
Hoshangabad-Harda National Highway which is at a distance of just 40 km from Harda.
It is also at close proximity to Seoni- Malwa district headquarter Hoshangabad.
Tighra - Great Indian Bustard Sanctuary:
Tighra dam has been constructed on Sank River in 1916.
This dam has been constructed in the vicinity of eleven villages. The villagers
depend on this dam for their irrigation, drinking and domestic purpose.
Deori - National Chambal Sanctuary:
Hailed as one of the cleanest rivers of India, Chambal
(National Chambal Wildlife Sanctuary) has long been the backbone of the
national efforts for saving the endangered gharial and mugger crocodiles.
